I’ve been working online since 1984, and on the Internet since 1993. I’ve watched the development of the World Wide Web and its search engines from the time when the Web had a couple of hundred Web sites to the present day.

I’ve been working in Search Engine Optimization for many years, since at least 1999. I’m the author of the best-selling search-engine book, Search Engine Optimization for Dummies: I wrote the first edition in 2003, and have written 6 more editions since then (the most recent edition–now called SEO for Dummies–was published late in 2019). I’m also the author of Pay Per Click Search Engine Marketing for Dummies.
